In today’s food industry, consumers crave more than just products, they seek experiences that connect with their values, health goals, and lifestyles. Brands that deliver immersive, memorable activations can forge stronger connections with their audience. Here are five key tips to help your food brand stand out in a competitive market:

Cooking Workshop

Whole Foods Market leads by example with their “Health Starts Here” workshops, which emphasise plant-based diets through hands-on cooking demonstrations and wellness tips. These interactive sessions not only educate customers but also subtly introduce Whole Foods products to a target demographic – those passionate about healthy, plant-based eating. As consumers become more informed about nutrition and its role in overall well-being, food brands have an opportunity to offer more than just products. By providing educational content around dietary trends and superfoods, brands can meet the growing demand for healthier choices and establish trust with their audience.

Wrigley's Extra Baths

When tasked with expanding Wrigley’s reach among younger consumers, we created an exclusive wellness-focused activation for Extra, their iconic chewing gum brand. By positioning their product within a broader wellness narrative, the activation resonated with health-conscious consumers. When customers feel that a brand aligns with their personal goals, they’re more likely to develop loyalty and turn to it in their everyday lives.

Crufts Butternut Box

At the world’s largest dog show, Crufts, Butternut Box made an unforgettable statement with a larger-than-life version of their iconic box, suspended from the ceiling, and a ‘bowl of truth’ filled with fresh ingredients they use in their pet food. Not only did this visually engage visitors, but it also reinforced the company’s commitment to quality and transparency. The activation’s impact extended beyond the event, as Butternut Box donated 100KG of those fresh ingredients to City Harvest, demonstrating a commitment to both their product values and social responsibility. When brands showcase their core values through creative experiences, they create lasting impressions that resonate with consumers on a deeper level.

Instagram Influencer

Partnering with credible influencers in the food and wellness space can significantly amplify your brand’s reach. For instance, Hello Fresh’s collaborations with influencers like Zoe Sugg help the brand tap into younger audiences, such as Gen Z and Millennials, who trust recommendations from relatable online personalities.

By using influencers to promote your food brand activations, you not only extend your reach to online communities but also build credibility with audiences who may not otherwise interact with your activation in person.

Supper Club

Supper clubs are a tried-and-true method, particularly for hospitality brands. Simple but effective, these intimate dining experiences allow brands to connect with customers on a personal level, offering a direct line to share their story and product in an immersive environment. Time and again, supper clubs prove to be a powerful tool for building brand loyalty and generating buzz.

As trends come and go, consumer preferences evolve and health-consciousness grows, experiential marketing is becoming essential for food brands to connect with their audience. Whether you’re promoting a restaurant, a supermarket product, or even pet food, well-executed brand activations can strengthen relationships and keep your brand top of mind.
