Digital interactions dominate many of our lives and with that comes both social media burnout and an increasing appetite for in-person experiences. A ‘third space’ is the perfect spot for this – a place where people can come together outside of the workplace or home. In the context of hospitality, it’s also a powerful marketing tool. The most effective strategy for marketing hospitality brands as a third space is bringing them to life with events through experiential marketing – turning physical spaces into vibrant hubs of creativity, community and inclusion.

Whether it’s for residents, tenants or customers with a shared interest, experiential marketing helps to cultivate community and adds a draw that will keep people coming back time and time again. Unique event concepts also add a point of differentiation from competitors. We created Play Dates – an event series for our client Padel Social Club that plays matchmaker among people who share a love for padel. Event series like this bring brand identities to life, building more positive associations.

Experiential marketing not only generates footfall for people to discover how great your space is but when paired with digital campaigns, increases social media coverage and is likely to generate wider media and press coverage. These are key with influencers, journalists and consumers alike all trying to find the next third space hotspot.

We designed and produced the launch event for the luxury apartment hotel – The Other House. Our extravagant and immersive party showed prospective guests the values and enticing features of the hotel that they may not have stopped in to see outside of the event. In one evening, event guests got a taste for the luxurious, high quality that The Other House brings to its guests across every touchpoint in the hotel, from the food and beverage offerings to the wellness facilities. Again, this proves that experiential marketing is key in positioning hospitality brands, with amenities playing a big part in how people choose a third space.
Experiential marketing can ensure your hospitality space becomes a thriving hotspot associated with good times and positive relationships for customers by bringing your offering to life. When the third space concept becomes integrated with a hospitality brand’s identity, you’re onto a real winner when it comes to brand awareness and engagement.
