We created Sisterhood’s first ever physical space, which had a combined 649.2k online and offline reach.
Sisterhood won Appear Here’s annual Space for Change competition, which gave them the platform to showcase a concept with purpose and cultural significance.
They challenged us to create a storytelling lab and bookshop, showcasing their ‘Find Me Among Them’ anthology comprising ten stories from girls aged 14-15 in London. This book amplifies experiences and narratives of young people – in particular females – whilst exploring issues of race, inequality, prejudice and justice. The purpose of the lab was twofold; first to promote the Sisterhood book, and also to act as an aspirational space for other young people, and be an environment where diversity, creativity and equality are actively encouraged and nurtured.

The space aimed to pioneer the concept of a storytelling lab and bookshop, the first of its kind in elevating the voices of underrepresented young girls. Over a two storey space in the centre of Covent Garden, our team created a journey from a bookshop, to an interactive workshop area.
Kicking off with an exclusive launch night for the ten young authors of the ‘Find Me Among Them’ anthology and friends and partners of the Sisterhood team, the lab was intending to reach maximum footfall in its two weeks of activation. The idea was to spread the impactful message of Sisterhood’s story far and wide, as well as sell the girls’ anthology. Being one of the first books showcasing the narratives of underrepresented voices of London’s youth, we wanted to help Sisterhood design a space that would elevate this book to its full potential.

The young people that were walking through the door just got it and you helped make a space that attracted people who can work, support and benefit from the service Sisterhood provides. Thank you, thank you, thank you. All we have to say is, when can we work together again?”
